Have you ever wanted to call out someone’s bullshit on a dating app by screenshotting their profile and plastering it all over social media? Of course you have! You’re only human after all! And let’s be honest: Where would we be without valuable social experiments like Nice Guys of OkCupid? Nowhere, that’s where!
Starting by the end of September, the swipe-n-grind app Jack’d is taking safety measures into its own hands by totally disabling screenshots on phones.
“Safety has become a huge priority at Jack’d,” Explained Alon Rivel, the app’s Director of Global Marketing in a Press Release. “Earlier this summer, we polled members on what they wanted most out of the next version and an increase in privacy was at the top of the list. The rise in bullying and hate crimes against the LGBTQ community since the US presidential election has made security a real concern to members throughout the world.”
Jack’d has also made registration easier (and safer) by allowing users to create accounts by logging into Facebook. And while the extra measures might not save the world from catfishers and faceless profile pics, by gum, it’s a start!
