The LGBTQ+ Community and Allies are hosting the Third Annual LGBTQ+ Coming Out Community Picnic this Saturday, October 26. The event will be held at Houghton Park from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and will feature food, live music, face painting, crafts, resource tables and more. This event is free and open to the public.
The LGBTQ+ Coming Out Community Picnic celebrates the diverse and vibrant LGBTQ+ community, bringing the community together in Houghton Park for a family-friendly afternoon of events and activities. This event is an opportunity for the community to gather to meet new friends, renew old friendships and share ideas and resources.
The picnic will be held at the south end of Houghton Park near Atlantic Avenue and Harding Street, close to the skate park. There is plenty of street parking available.
Food and drinks will be provided by the Long Beach Convention and Entertainment Center and AIDS Food Store Additional co-sponsoring organizations include Councilmember Rex Richardson, Free Mom Hugs, Gay For Good, International Imperial Court of Long Beach, The LGBTQ Center Long Beach, Long Beach Lesbian and Gay Pride, PFLAG Long Beach, PREPA Long Beach, Qhmer, and South Coast Chorale. The event is open to everyone in the community, LGBTQ+, Allies new friends and children are welcome.
