The 5th annual charity event is back on Friday, Dec. 13 at the Long Beach Convention Center
“Come experience what community means in Long Beach!” Isa Rached, founder of It’s a Drag to Give and CEO of the B Room Salon, said in an interview. “It’s not easy getting up there. Come support our performers and our community.”
This special one-night event brings together the community for an unforgettable night of drag to support the important work of local nonprofits.
Hosts will include Jewels from LB Hamburger Mary’s and Mia Farrow – a local drag queen and community activist. Performers include: Justin Potier, President of the LGBTQ Center of Long Beach; Jennifer Kumiyama, Special Project Manager for the First District Council Office; Isa Rached and more!
This year will even feature It’s a Drag to Give’s first Drag Kid! ‘Judy Bloome’ and her parents will be flying out all the way from Utah for their child to perform.
“There’s not a lot of opportunity over there,” Rached said in an interview. “So they’re coming here to see what the Long Beach community is all about!”
All proceeds (including tips) from this event will benefit local organizations, including the LGBTQ Center of Long Beach, Beacon for Him and the Women’s Shelter of Long Beach.
“Even though we have come a long way, we cannot forget that there are still so many people we need to help to make a better world,” Rached said.
