The Los Angeles LGBT Center’s Young Professionals Council (YPC) will host a panel discussion featuring young activists blazing the way for LGBT equality and health on March 15 at the Center’s Renberg Theatre.
The panel will consist of Michael Ai, deputy district director for Los Angeles City Councilmember Mike Bonin; Justine Gonzalez, appointed member of the City of Los Angeles Human Relations Commission, Drian Juarez, program manager of the Center’s Transgender Economic Empowerment Project and Carmina Ocampo, staff attorney at Lambda Legal.
Event Chair Daniel Paress said in a statement, “Since the U.S. presidential election, many of us have been asking what we can do to ensure that the rights of LGBT people remain protected and undeterred, but these four amazing individuals aren’t asking any longer — they’re doing it. They’ve dedicated themselves to making a positive impact in the lives of LGBT people in Los Angeles and beyond. We are thrilled to hear from these pioneers who had made it their mission to help LGBT people become healthy, equal, and complete members of society.”
The panel will be moderated by Aaron Fox, director of government relations at the Los Angeles LGBT Center.
The event is free and begins at 7 p.m. at the Los Angeles LGBT Center’s Renberg Theatre, The Village at Ed Gould Plaza, 1125 N. McCadden Place, 90038. For more information visit lalgbtcenter.org/ypcpioneers.
