In light of this suffocating heat (and equally suffocating political landscape,) I’d say we’re all in need of a good party right about now. Luckily, the California African American Museum is about to throw an art-infused banger featuring a live DJ, food trucks galore, and–you guessed it–art! “Can’t Stop, Won’t Stop” celebrates the opening of CAAM’s newest exhibits, “We Wanted a Revolution: Black Radical Women, 1965-85,” (featuring work by the brilliant Carrie Mae Weems) “Lezley Saar: Salon des Refusés,” and “Circles and Circuits I: History and Art of the Chinese Caribbean Diaspora.”
If you’re hungry for culture and ready to dance the night away, you’re going to want to show up in style. The event is free and begins at 7 P.M.
