Varsity Gay League is holding its annual Draft League held on Wednesday nights for 6 weeks.
Draft League means that all players register as “free agents” and will be drafted onto different teams to create balanced play. Random strangers will be placed together on a team to create a new, exciting social sports experience.
The six week event is open to veteran players as well as brand new players.
Draft League will start Wednesday June 2nd and end July 7th at Poinsettia Park between 6:30pm-9:30pm. Early bird registration is $50 per player while regular registration is $55 per player. Late registration will cost $60 per player.
All players will be required to sign multiple covid waivers which are required by the city. In addition, players are asked to sign the VGL Pledge, an agreement to respect the diversity of the community.
Teams are encouraged to create their own apparel and look and all sexualities, genders and personalities are welcome.
Unfortunately due to COVID-19 there will be no weekly after parties during this season however VGL encourages every team to support queer run businesses and bars to ensure the LGBTQ community has a community to go back to.
