Spillin’ Tea with Willam

When she’s not on your television or making appearances at DragCon L.A., Willam Belli, the famous Drag Queen, is amping up for Pride season and telling us allll about it. The Pride L.A. spoke with William about what she’s up to and what she’s looking forward to. Check it out:

Can you introduce yourself? How might people know you?

I’m a model/actress/mattress with great people skills and people might know me from the gigs, youtube or maybe “A Star Is Born.”

How was DragCon? Why do you enjoy events like that?

I absolutely love DragCon. It’s saying “thank you” a lot and getting compliments from people who worship the dolls.

Why are Pride events important?

Visibility like parades and rainbow crosswalks makes it clear that we are not a second class group of citizens who don’t deserve equal rights, especially with what 45 is doing with the transgender protection rollbacks.

What are you looking forward to at LA Pride this year?

 Funnel Cake

What is your favorite part of Pride?

LASC had a rooftop party I went to once that was super fun. I definitely sucked a dick there.

What is Drag visibility like overall? In the LGBTQ+ community?

DRAG is everywhere! Pose, RuPaul’s Drag Race

What are you working on now professional or philanthropically? Any exciting news to share?

I’m in WIG on HBO about Wigstock June 18th and me on HGTV’s HouseHunters June 27/28 and Netflix’s Eastsiders this summer.

What does Pride mean to you?

I think Pride means being proud of being who you are and celebrating and remembering those that weren’t as lucky to be as free as us.
