Rapper Detained and Taken to the Hospital Following Reports of Erratic Behavior
Police in Los Angeles have reportedly detained rapper Lil Nas X early Thursday after responding to reports of a naked man in the street in Studio City, then arrested him on suspicion of battery on a peace officer, according to a report by TMZ, who broke the story with a video of the incident.
Officers were called to the 11000 block of Ventura Boulevard at about 5:50 a.m., where a man allegedly charged at them and was taken into custody, the Los Angeles Police Department told KTLA. The man was transported to a hospital for a possible overdose, police said. Officers did not publicly identify the suspect or specify what he was wearing.
The performer, 25, was booked on a misdemeanor count of battery on a peace officer at the Van Nuys jail and was being held without bail. The video published by TMZ appeared to show Lil Nas X walking down Ventura Boulevard in white underwear and cowboy boots, at times dancing in the roadway and placing a traffic cone on his head.
Lil Nas X’s Instagram account history, except for eleven posts from August 19, 2025, was archived or deleted. The posts show a painting, a video of the artist singing a song, posed photos in front of a mirror, and photos of the interior of a home that seems somewhat chaotic, without furniture and items, like a computer hard drive, lying on its side on the floor and a length of rope and sheets hanging over the walls.
One of the photos is captioned, “OH NO SHE’S GONE MAD! CRAZY I TELL U! 😭🙏🏾😈🫦🫶🏾❤️,” It is not known if the posts and the artist’s alleged behavior are related, but they are concerning given the apparent circumstances.
The Los Angeles Police Department has not released an official statement regarding the events as of now, but we will update the story when more information is available.
