Program Aims to Reduce Ease Traffic Congestion, Reduce Car Use
In an effort to reduce traffic congestion and promote environmentally friendly transportation, the City of West Hollywood has officially launched its new GoWeHo Transportation Management Organization (TMO) program. The initiative aims to make sustainable travel options, such as walking, biking, carpooling, and public transit, more accessible and appealing for residents, workers, and visitors.
The GoWeHo TMO will serve as a centralized resource for mobility strategies that help shift travel behavior away from single-occupancy vehicle use. Managed by City staff and transportation consultants, the program reflects West Hollywood’s ongoing commitment to improving air quality, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, and enhancing overall community well-being.
Designed to support both public and private stakeholders, the program offers tools and guidance for developers, employers, and the general public to better connect with a range of local transportation options. From transit education to incentives for carpooling and vanpooling, the initiative is aligned with the City’s Transportation Demand Management (TDM) goals outlined in the General Plan.
By supporting compliance with West Hollywood’s TDM Ordinance and the State of California’s Congestion Management Program, the GoWeHo TMO will contribute to long-term efforts to ease roadway congestion and promote sustainable urban mobility.
To help introduce the program, the City will host a virtual open house for developers on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. The session will cover the TDM Ordinance and demonstrate how the GoWeHo TMO can assist with implementation and enhance transportation access for employees and customers.
