Which Are the Best Dog Parks in Los Angeles in 2025

Dog parks are a wonderful way for pet owners who don’t have access to a big yard to exercise their fur kids and give them some much-needed social interaction. Spending time in a dog park allows your pup to play off-leash and spend some time outdoors, which is highly beneficial if your pet lives in an apartment.

It’s with this in mind that many Los Angeles pet owners are continuously looking for the best dog parks in the area. This post highlights a few of the more popular options that cater to dogs of all breeds and ages. Exploring more than one option gives your pet variety and allows them to interact with a wide range of pets and people.

Hermon Dog Park

5568 Via Marisol, Los Angeles, CA 90042

Before you set out on a dog park adventure you should ensure that your canine has the necessary dog insurance in Los Angeles to ensure it is protected against injury, accidents, and potential illness. It’s always a good idea to compare costs and coverage options to have peace of mind when your dog needs medical care.

Once you have pet insurance squared away, you can start your dog park tour with a visit to Hermon Dog Park. This off-leash park offers a 1.3-acre mud-free play area combined with plenty of tree shade. A small dog play area ensures that smaller dogs are safe while they’re exploring the park. The park has a BYOB (bring your own poop bags) rule and also hosts fun events like social interactions and vaccine clinics.

Alice’s Dog Park

3026 E Orange Grove Blvd, Pasadena, CA 91107

If you and your large dog have just moved to LA, then a space you need to check out is Alice’s Dog Park. With a 2.5-acre off-leash play area for large dogs, your pet will get all the exercise it needs. Smaller dogs can take advantage of the fenced-off 1-acre grassy play area.

A double fence ensures your pet is always securely in the park, and there are also several water stations for dogs and their owners. Picnic tables and shady areas ensure that you have somewhere comfy to sit while your dog is having fun.

Lake Hollywood Park

3160 N Canyon Drive Los Angeles, CA 90027

With an excellent view of the iconic Hollywood sign, this park is a firm favorite in LA. Pet owners can look forward to ample parking while pets have big grassy areas to play in. Since this popular park is located on the edge of Griffith Park, there are also opportunities for hikes and adventures. This isn’t an off-leash park, and owners can be slapped with a $100 fine if pooches are found running around without a leash.

Silver Lake Dog Park

1850 Silver Lake Drive, Los Angeles, CA 90026

This park is a popular hangout for big and small dogs alike and has separate play areas for each. While the park offers 1.25 acres of off-leash play space, it does have a lot of dirt, making it dusty and muddy. Be sure to have a backup park for Wednesdays as this space is closed on Wednesdays for routine maintenance.

Laurel Canyon Dog Park

8260 Mulholland Drive, Studio City, CA 90046

If you and your fur kid are keen celebrity watchers, then Laurel Canyon Dog Park is the place to hang out. Celebrity sightings and a play area that spans 5 acres make this a firm favorite in LA. The park is closed for maintenance on Fridays, and guests are urged to watch out for coyotes and rattlesnakes which like to make an appearance in the early morning or early evening.

The Boneyard

3160 N. Canyon Drive, Culver City, CA 90232

This park is ideal for early evening or late night playtimes as it is open until 10 pm daily and even boasts lights over the off-leash play areas. Water fountains are also on offer to keep pets cool in the heat. The Boneyard is a top choice for pet owners who can’t take their pets for walks during the day.

Sepulveda Basin

17494 Victory Blvd, Encino, CA 91436

Your canine will enjoy the incredible 6.5-acre off-leash play area this park has to offer. With ample grassy and muddy areas, your dog can play to its heart’s content. A large parking lot and an array of shady picnic tables mean you can relax while your pet hangs out with its new friends.

Final Thoughts

Taking your beloved pet to the local dog park shouldn’t be just an afterthought. Taking the time to visit and review different parks in your area will not only make each visit fun for you and your dog but will also introduce your pet to other dogs.
