Event to Honor Lives Lost to Anti-Transgender Violence with Speakers and Performances.
The City of West Hollywood’s Transgender Advisory Board, in partnership with The Los Angeles County Department of Parks and Recreation, will hold a Transgender Day of Remembrance event on Friday, Nov. 15, 2024, to honor those who have lost their lives to anti-transgender violence and discrimination.
The ceremony will take place at 6:30 p.m. in the West Hollywood City Council Chambers, located at 625 N. San Vicente Boulevard, with a reception featuring light snacks beginning at 6:00 p.m. The event will include a reading of the names of individuals who have died due to anti-transgender violence.
Sabel Samone-Loreca from the Minority AIDS Project will host the ceremony, which will feature speakers including Mallery Jenna Robinson. Musical performances by Trans Chorus LA and artist Sunkee Angel are also scheduled.Those unable to attend in person can watch the ceremony live or access a replay on the City of West Hollywood’s YouTube channel, WeHoTV, at http://youtube.com/wehotv.
