Joint Efforts Lead to Successful Assistance for a Veteran in Need
The Culver City Police Mental Evaluation Team collaborated with the Veterans Affairs (VA) and Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department (LASD) Mental Evaluation Teams to assist an unhoused woman in Culver City today.
The Culver City Mobile Crisis Team had previously offered services to the woman, who was located on a bus bench on Overland Avenue a few weeks ago.
Upon reaching out to her again, the teams found her receptive to their assistance. She is now en route to receive the necessary resources from VA staff.
This joint effort exemplifies how multiple city departments can successfully work together to achieve a common goal. Through their collaboration, an unhoused veteran is now being connected with housing and essential services.
