$2.94 Million Mega Millions Ticket Purchased in West Los Angeles  Expires This Weekend

California Lottery Urges Players to Check Their Tickets as the Deadline Approaches

A $2.94 million Mega Millions ticket purchased in Los Angeles is set to expire this weekend. The ticket, sold at the SK gas station on 11280 National Boulevard in the Westdale neighborhood, was for the December 12 drawing last year. It matched the numbers 8, 23, 44, 45, and 53 but missed the Mega Number 3.

The California Lottery is urgently reminding any ticket holders who have a ticket that can match the numbers drawn to come forward by 5 p.m. Friday to claim their prize at one of the state’s nine lottery offices. If you are the lucky ticket holder, don’t miss this opportunity. Alternatively, you can mail the ticket and necessary paperwork postmarked by Saturday, June 8. With the deadline approaching, the Lottery is urging all players to check any Mega Millions tickets they might still have.

To claim the prize, the winner must complete a California Lottery claim form, available online, at Lottery offices, or any of the 23,000 California Lottery retail partners statewide. Completed claim forms and the winning ticket can be submitted in person or mailed to:

California Lottery Headquarters
730 North 10th Street
Sacramento, CA 95811

Mega Millions winners who match five numbers have 180 days from the draw date to claim their prize. If the $2.94 million prize goes unclaimed by this weekend, the money will be allocated to public schools in California, in line with the Lottery’s mission. It’s important to note that the California Lottery has raised more than $1.1 billion in unclaimed prizes for public education since its inception in 1985, making a significant impact on our community’s education system.

While there were no major Mega Millions jackpot winners from California in the recent draw, the $552 million jackpot hit in Illinois on Tuesday night brought significant benefits to California schools. The Lottery estimates that $42.8 million was raised for public education from ticket sales during the 20 draws leading up to the jackpot.
