New Structure Will Replace a Shakey’s Pizza Restaurant
The Tesla Diner and Drive-In that will also be charging facility is now under construction as reported by Urbanize Los Angeles. The approved project is being built at 7001 W. Santa Monica Boulevard. The framework is now visible for a circular structure. The development, replacing the former Shakey’s restaurant site, is set to include a 30-car surface parking lot, with each space equipped for charging stations.
Designed by Stantec, the futuristic two-story building will have outdoor seating on its rooftop, for diners who would prefer to dine outdoors. Renderings also showcase counter-style seating on the building’s exterior.
According to building permits, a screen will be strategically placed around the site, enabling the projection of films and images.
This diner will be a prototype for a potential new wave of upscale Tesla charging stations. If successful, this concept could see expansion into other cities nationwide.
