World Premiere of Play Frozen Fluid Presented by LGBT Center and Coeurage Ensemble

LGBT Center Play Challenges Perspectives on Gender and the Environment

By Dolores Quintana

The World Premiere of the play Frozen Fluid is an ethereal depiction of Antarctica, mirroring our present climate challenges, two scientists delve into the study of glaciers and whales. The arrival of Tay, a nonbinary phytoplankton scientist, prompts Herman and Terra to confront their notions of gender and humanity’s influence on the natural world. As the narrative unfolds, a transformative world emerges—one liberated from human interference, where gender, identity, religion, climate, and time undergo profound redefinition.

This play was written by: Fly Jamerson, directed by Amanda McRaven, and co-produced by Coeurage Ensemble and the Los Angeles LGBT Center. You can purchase tickets on the play’s website. It is described as an Antarctic gender non-conforming creation myth. It stars  Nicole Delsack (they/she), Michael Budd (he/she/they), and Yvonne Cone (she/them).

The play runs from November 10 to December 17, from 8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at The Village at Ed Gould Plaza – Lily Tomlin/Jane Wagner Cultural Arts Center. The theater is located at 1125 N McCadden Place, Los Angeles.
