Powerful Lineup of Performers and an Extra Day of Celebration
By Dolores Quintana
In honor of Spirit Day on Thursday, October 19th, GLAAD presents its highly anticipated 5th annual Spirit Day concert. This year marks a significant milestone, as for the first time, tickets are available to the general public, and the event will be held on Wednesday, October 18th.
Powered by Live Nation and the Recording Academy, the Spirit Day concert will take place at The Belasco in Los Angeles. The lineup features a dynamic array of top performers in the music industry, as well as emerging queer intersectional artists who are making waves and changing the world. Notable acts for this year’s show include Lauren Jauregui, VINCINT, The Scarlet Opera, Wayne Brady, and more. The concert will be hosted by the charismatic Frankie Grande alongside GLAAD President and CEO Sarah Kate Ellis.
Proceeds from this historic live music event will bolster GLAAD’s mission to foster acceptance. It provides an opportunity for LGBTQ youth, their parents, educators, allies, and more to witness the potential when we lead with acceptance.
Spirit Day is an annual celebration that falls on the third Thursday of October. It plays a crucial role in raising awareness and offering role models for LGBTQ youth who experience disproportionately high rates of bullying. GLAAD encourages millions of individuals to proudly don the color purple to show their support for LGBTQ youth. To find out more, visit glaad.org/spiritday.
