Check List To Get Ready For a Successful Pride

Any successful pride movement requires a couple of accessories that you need to have before participating. If you want to stand out or can’t find the necessary things in your local shops, you can always order online or customize it! Here is a checklist to get ready for a successful pride.

1. Flags

When we go anywhere new, we adore seeing rainbow flags — it’s a great way to say you’re welcome here. You can create flags easily, using your creativity, imagination, and online customization.

You can then participate in a Pride Parade by bringing your rainbow flag to add to the party. You can wave the flag on a pole or wrap it around yourself to show everyone that you’re proud inside and out.

2. Sunglasses

Since Gay Pride Month is usually in June, that means the sun will be shining brightly.

Some decent sunglasses will protect your eyes from the harsh glare while ensuring that you look cool and stylish no matter what you’re wearing.

3. Clothes

This is something we appreciate about pride celebrations throughout the world that we don’t often see at other events. You can be yourself, wear anything you want, and no one will judge you.

Whatever you wear, make sure it’s comfortable and secure. You don’t want anything valuable to fall out of your clothes while you’re partying and marching.

4. Valuables

This is a critical one. During Gay Pride Month, there are several parties and parades, and some people might take advantage of the crowds to do some stealing.

Pickpockets are attracted to crowds. It’s unfortunate, but that’s the reality. Leave the really valuable stuff, like jewelry, at home and keep the stuff you need, like your phone and credit cards close by so you’re not an easy target for pickpockets.

How Can You Keep Your Things Safe?

Sometimes you want to relax and enjoy the parade without worrying about anything. You can do so by traveling light and using the following items:

Pants with zips or buttons

Pants or shorts with pockets that can be closed with zippers or buttons are a great choice. Any potential pickpockets will avoid the person wearing them to go after an easier target.

Drawstring bags

Keep your valuables in one of those backpacks that you must remove to open or close. Don’t wear a backpack with simple zips or clips, and if you do, wear it on your front.

Bum bag (or fanny pack if you’re from the US)

These seem to be coming back in style right now, as they’re seen all across Europe and America. They are water-resistant and made to fit smartphones and other small items. Keeping your valuables in one around your waist or across your chest is a safer alternative to a wallet or your pockets.

We recommend checking out the route and start time and planning appropriately. You can bypass the starting area and go farther down the path, where it is generally calmer and has a nicer perspective.

You can choose to secure a hotel with a balcony overlooking the parade route (or make friends with someone who has)! This will keep you safe, allow you to show off your outfit and accessories, and give you a great view of the parade.
