9 Things to Do in Laguna Beach in the Fall

Forget summer vacation, why not plan your fall break to Laguna Beach? Most people think of summer because of the beaches, sand, and sun, but the great thing about Laguna Beach is that the weather here is amazing all year long. Whether you come for just the weekend, or you packed your travel luggage to stay for a whole week, there are plenty of fun activities waiting for you when you arrive.

Thousand Steps Beach

No visit to Laguna Beach is complete without a stop at one of the most beautiful beaches on the Pacific Coast. If you’re okay with walking up and down a lot of stairs, you’ll love this incredible beach. It’s known for its wide sandy shore, hidden caves, and essential amenities like bathrooms. While it’s called Thousand Steps Beach, there are actually only 223 steps. The hidden caves are revealed during low tide and there are amazing places to explore. Stay safe, though, and don’t go too high on the slippery rocks.

Laguna Coast Wilderness Park

If you love to hike and bike, then take a trip on the acres and acres of trails at this scenic wilderness park. Whether you’re a beginner or an expert, you’ll find something for everyone. This beautiful outdoor setting is the perfect place to explore and experience the natural landscape of the Laguna Beach area. You find steep hikes that take you up to incredible views and level meandering hikes for those more casual walks.

Laguna Art Museum

Discover the incredible talent of local artists at the Laguna Art Museum. With incredible paintings and exciting art installations, there is always something to see here. For the art lover, you’ll find that the museum is a full sensory experience. You’ll be inspired and wowed by the beautiful creations inside.

Stand-up Paddling

If you’ve never been stand-up paddling before, now is the perfect time to try it. The ocean waters in Laguna Beach are the perfect place to learn how to do it and to take a tour of the coastline. You’ll find places to rent gear, take lessons, and more in Laguna Beach. Smart instructors know the best places with the least number of waves to teach classes.

Surfing

In addition to SUP classes, you can also learn to surf. If you already know how, there are multiple places that rent out surfboards, wet suits, and more. You’ll love the excitement of catching your first wave, or simply surfing for the first time on California’s Pacific Coast. Find fun surfing groups to learn new techniques from, or simply enjoy the gorgeous waves at the beach.

Pirate Tower

Despite its name, this 60-foot-tall tower is not old enough to be an actual pirate tower. It was built in 1926 and goes to the top of a cliff. It hides a private staircase that the original homeowners used to access the beach below. It has a colorful history, but it now sits locked up and unused. Beachgoers to Victoria Beach can get photos of it and it’s a popular destination for social media influencers in California.

Art Festivals

It’s no secret that artists love Laguna Beach. This quirky art community includes galleries, museums, and festivals. Fall is a great time to explore the city with many of the summer travelers gone for the season. This makes it less crowded, but equally enjoyable. Some of the annual festivals include Sawdust Art & Craft Festival, Art-A-Fair, and many more.

Laguna Beach Dog Park

Don’t forget about your furry friend. This popular dog park has plenty of space for your dogs to run and play. It was built in 1992 and has been loved and maintained ever since. For an annual membership of $25, you can come and play with your pooch to your heart’s content. There are plenty of dog-friendly places to go in Laguna Beach.

Professional PortraitsLaguna Beach has the best locations to capture amazing engagement, couples, family, and headshot portraits. Document your trip and get timeless heirloom quality portraits when you hire a professional photographer on your trip. Whether you opt for sunset photos on the beach or early morning portraits while hiking the trails, you can’t go wrong with getting a pro to take your pictures.
