A Locals Guide to Staying in LA

Los Angeles is filled with exciting shows and non-stop entertainment. Whether you’re coming for a short-term or a long-term stay, there is something for everyone. The weather is great year-round, and the nightlife is incredible. Plus, the opportunities for business owners to network and make connections with other like-minded people is limitless. Use these tips to make your next business or pleasure trip to Los Angeles as epic as you are.

Gay Friendly Restaurants

When you’re visiting Los Angeles, it’s always nice to find gay-friendly businesses to frequent. This includes restaurants. Whether you’re looking for a five-star meal or something grab-and-go, LA has tons of delicious options. Old Venice, The Bistro, Taste, and Hollywood Thai are just some of the favorites that the LGBT community love. They each have a unique menu, atmosphere, and treat LGBT community members with love and respect.

Accommodations

Check out some furnished apartments, Los Angeles style. These are not your average boring hotel rooms. They are chic, classy, and luxurious options. If you’re just staying for a weekend, or staying for a few months, furnished apartments are a better option than the local hotels. You’ll feel like a king or queen when you step into these high-end accommodations. Host your friends, your business connections, or throw a party (if it’s allowed). There is so much more you can do with an apartment. If you’re planning to move here, use one before you get your own apartment. You’ll be glad you did.

Transportation

The traffic in LA is known for being terrible. Some people love to have their own car because Los Angeles is so big. But the traffic makes it undesirable as well. If you can find accommodations near the places you want to spend most of your time, great, if not, you have more options than a rental car. There are buses, taxis, Uber, and Lyft cars all around the city. You can use any one of them to get you where you want to go. The bus schedule is available online, and if they aren’t running, just open your app and hail a rideshare. They are available day and night no matter what and when you’re busy in the city.

Beaches Near Los Angeles

Get out in the sunshine and enjoy the beach. Show off your body or connect with new friends. There are places to work out, join in a game, and even bike, rollerblade, and skateboard. Muscle Beach and Will Rogers Beach are two of the best gay-friendly beaches around. You can also head over to Santa Monica Beach or Malibu Beaches. Work on your tan or just enjoy some sun and surf. Los Angeles attracts surfers from all over the world to ride the waves. No matter what your business is in LA, make sure you include a trip to one of these famous beaches.

LGBT Nightlife Options

Bring your party clothes because the Los Angeles nightlife is phenomenal. There are countless gay-friendly bars and clubs where you can bring a friend or come meet someone new. Come to Precinct if you want a good drag show. The Abbey is great if you want a lounge-like vibe and creative flavored martinis. If you’re looking for something a little less refined, you’d love Fubar in West Hollywood. And for a simple hangout spot with other queer folk, you’ll find a jukebox and hipster vibe at Akbar. While years ago, it was hard to find a good gay bar, now they are sprinkled throughout the city. Enjoy a good night at any one of these clubs.

Check Out the Local Vibe

The beauty of Los Angeles is that it’s a diverse blend of art, music, culture, and theater.  On the one hand, you have a bustling city life and on the other, you can relax at the beach. You can take in a show or walk through the city streets to enjoy the local people and businesses. You’ll find performing arts shows, auditions, and opportunities like nowhere else in the world. If you’re ready to showcase your talents, then plan your trip to Los Angeles. The local vibe includes gay-friendly art shows, comedy tours, modern performances, and so much more. There is so much to see and do. You could live here for a lifetime and never experience it all.
