Love In Action Telethon

Love In Action, a telethon to support the LGBTQ+ community during the COVID pandemic will be airing live on Sept.12th at 7p.m on KTLA.

Presented by The Ariadne Getty Foundation, the show will be co-hosted by Emmy Award-winning actor and former member of the Center’s Board of Directors Jane Lynch and KTLA News Anchor Cher Calvin.

The star studded two-hour prime time fundraising show will include appearances and performances by a roster of A-list entertainers, including (to date):

Cher • Melissa Etheridge • Cyndi Lauper • Lily Tomlin • Leslie Odom Jr. • Tonality • Shangela •  Gigi Gorgeous • Nats Getty • August Getty • Billy Porter • Sia • Margaret Cho • Jay Leno • k.d. lang • RuPaul • Meredith Vieira • Jesse Tyler Ferguson • Andrew Rannells • Cynthia Erivo • Pauley Perrette • Billy Eichner • Tyler Oakley • Wilson Cruz • Anthony Rapp • Miss Coco Peru • Brian Michael Smith • Peter Paige • Alec Mapa • Bruce Vilanch • Alexandra Billings • Frankie Grande • Marizol Leyva • Selenis Leyva • Lake Bell • Trans Chorus of Los Angeles • Carla Gugino • U.S. Sen. Tammy Baldwin • U.S. Rep. Adam Schiff •  Ilana Glazer

Since COVID-19 began the demand for the Center’s vital services, including health care, support for LGBTQ seniors and homeless youth, legal services, policy advocacy has increased. As a result of the pandemic, new needs emerged, including more and more people struggling with food insecurity.

Unfortunately, like all nonprofits, fundraising has declined dramatically. Despite this, organizations continue to rise to meet the needs of the community. Fortunately at this crisis moment dozens of the Center’s amazing friends from the entertainment world are coming together to reach out to those who can help make a difference in the lives of thousands of LGBTQ people.
