WeHo Sheriffs Investigate Collision with Pedestrian
Traffic investigators with the West Hollywood Sheriff’s Station are searching for the driver involved in a felony hit-and-run collision that left a pedestrian hospitalized with life-threatening injuries.
The incident occurred near the intersection of Fountain Avenue and Havenhurst Drive, where a white sedan traveling westbound on Fountain Avenue failed to yield to a pedestrian legally crossing in the crosswalk, authorities said. The vehicle struck the pedestrian and fled the scene, continuing westbound and disappearing from view.
Deputies said the vehicle is believed to have sustained front-end or left-front bumper damage during the crash. The victim was rushed to a nearby hospital, where they remain in critical condition.
Investigators believe speed may have been a contributing factor. It is still unclear whether drugs or alcohol played a role.
Authorities are asking anyone with information related to the incident to contact the West Hollywood Sheriff’s Station’s traffic investigators at (310) 358-4038.
