The development, located at 1201 N. Detroit Street, near the corner of Lexington Avenue, will feature a five-story building with 48 residential units. The project will consist mainly of studio apartments, totaling 47 units, along with one two-bedroom unit reserved for an on-site manager.
West Hollywood Mayor Chelsea Lee Byers said, “Access to safe, stable, and affordable housing is one of the most pressing challenges facing our community. With construction underway for Lexington Gardens, we’re taking a critical step in the right direction, providing people not just with a place to live but with an opportunity to rebuild and thrive. Projects such as this strengthen the fabric of our city, ensuring that our residents have the foundation they need to pursue a bright future.”
Designed to serve low-income households, Lexington Gardens will provide homes ranging in size from 384 to 447 square feet. Apartments will be available to individuals and families earning between 30% and 60% of the area’s median income.
The project is part of West Hollywood’s ongoing effort to expand its affordable housing options amid increasing demand across the region.
