Community Beautification Event Postponed; Virtual Donation Drive Continues
The City of West Hollywood has postponed its annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service due to ongoing regional wildfires. Originally planned for January 18, the event has been rescheduled for Saturday, February 22, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Updated details will be available at weho.org/calendar and weho.org/news.
West Hollywood will continue its tradition of participating in the National Day of Service, which honors the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. by promoting community engagement. The rescheduled event will take place at West Hollywood Elementary School, located at 970 N. Hammond St. Residents, visitors, and community members are invited to volunteer for landscaping, clean-up, painting, and other beautification projects.
The event will begin with a welcome program featuring members of the West Hollywood City Council and City Poet Laureate Jen Cheng. Volunteers must pre-register online at weho.org/volunteer and be at least 13 years old to participate. Registered participants will receive confirmation and check-in details prior to the event.
In addition to the Day of Service, the city is hosting a virtual donation drive to benefit the West Hollywood Homeless Initiative. The drive runs through January 31 and accepts online donations at secure.qgiv.com/for/homeless.
