Three Acres Burned; Traffic Disrupted as Firefighters Swiftly Extinguish Blaze
Firefighters quickly extinguished a house fire that spread to nearby brush in West Hollywood on Tuesday, as the region faced heightened wildfire risk during a Red Flag warning.
The Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) responded to the blaze at 8481 W. Sunset Boulevard, where flames engulfed a home and ignited surrounding vegetation. The fire, fueled by dry conditions and gusty winds, scorched approximately three acres before being contained.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department (LASD) West Hollywood Station urged the public to avoid the area near the 8400 block of Sunset Boulevard. “Sunset Blvd between San Vicente Blvd and Crescent Heights Blvd is closed to traffic. The fire department is on the scene working to contain the fire. Please use alternate routes,” LASD announced on social media.
Fire crews worked swiftly to prevent the blaze from spreading further, extinguishing the flames before any additional structures were damaged.
The Red Flag warning remains in effect, with officials urging residents to exercise caution and remain prepared for potential evacuations during high fire danger periods.
