Residents Invited to Sign Up for Limited Planter Bed Spaces
The City of West Hollywood has opened its waitlist for community garden planter beds, offering residents an opportunity to participate in the city’s gardening program. Sign-ups are available both online and in person. As of Sunday, there are 31 spots available on the waiting list.
Residents can register in person at the Plummer Park Community Center, located at 7377 Santa Monica Blvd., or at the West Hollywood Park Aquatic and Recreation Center, at 8750 El Tovar Place, adjacent to the West Hollywood Library.
The program is open exclusively to West Hollywood residents, who must provide two forms of proof of residency under their name, such as a valid California ID or driver’s license and a current residential utility bill.
Priority on the waitlist will be given to low-income residents aged 55 and older, as determined by guidelines from the California Department of Housing and Community Development. Proof of income will be required. However, residents who do not meet these criteria are still welcome to join the waitlist.
Spaces in the community gardens are limited, and the waitlist will be used to fill vacancies as they occur throughout the year. Participants who are offered a space must pay an annual license fee of $120 and a $20 key deposit. The gardens are gated and accessible only to participants.
