Free Meals, Resources, Entertainment Offered by C.I.T.Y. x1 Youth Group
The City of West Hollywood is inviting young people ages 14-24 to participate in a series of holiday events hosted by the nonprofit C.I.T.Y. x1 Youth Group. The organization, which supports at-risk and homeless LGBTQ+ youth, will hold events leading up to Thanksgiving and a festive holiday dinner in December.
The Pre-Thanksgiving activities begin Friday, November 22, and run through Wednesday, Nov. 27. They include five meal distributions at local encampments and transitional living centers. The week concludes with an in-person gathering on Thanksgiving Eve at QQ Café, located at 830 San Julian Street in Downtown Los Angeles.
C.I.T.Y. x1 will also host its annual Tamale Wars holiday dinner on Sunday, Dec. 8, at the Plummer Park Community Center in West Hollywood. The event, which is free for participants, will feature dinner, dancing, holiday carolers, access to community resources, and a performance by the Gay Men’s Chorus of Los Angeles. The dinner will be held in Rooms 5 and 6 at the community center, located at 7377 Santa Monica Boulevard.
C.I.T.Y. x1 Youth Group is dedicated to organizing social events for LGBTQ+ youth while connecting them to vital services, including GED and job training programs, transitional housing assistance, medical care, support groups, and food assistance.
