Trailer for Luca Guadagnino’s Queer Drops, Set for Limited Release on November 27

Based on William S. Burroughs’ Novel, the FilmBrings a Powerful Love Story to Life

Not content with releasing one amazing film in 2024, auteur director Luca Guadagnino is back with Queer. The film now has a trailer and A24 will put the film into limited release on November 27. Queer is a generational love story written by Justin Kuritzkes and based on the novel by William S. Burroughs.

You can experience the trailer here.

“1950. William Lee, an American expat in Mexico City, spends his days almost entirely alone, except for a few contacts with other members of the small American community. His encounter with Eugene Allerton, an expat former soldier, new to the city, shows him, for the first time, that it might be finally possible to establish an intimate connection with somebody.”

Queer was screened at the Venice Film Festival and the Toronto Film Festival earlier this year to rave reviews, with praise lavished on star Daniel Craig’s performance. The film also features Daniel Craig, Drew Starkey, Lesley Manville, Jason Schwartzman, Henrique Zaga, and Omar Apollo.

Guadagnino has called Queer his most personal film and noted that the style of the film is a tribute to the films of Micheal Powell and Emeric Pressburger. Cinematographer Sayombhu Mukdeeprom, who shot Call Me By Your Name, Suspiria, and Challengers, and composers and Nine Inch Nails members Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross, who also scored Challengers, return for Queer.
