Two SUVs Collide at Fountain and Spaulding, Leaving One Dead.
Traffic investigators from the West Hollywood Sheriff’s Station are investigating a fatal two-vehicle collision that occurred on Thursday, October 10, 2024, around 4:37 p.m. near the intersection of Fountain Avenue and Spaulding Avenue in West Hollywood, according to an LASD press release.
According to LASD’s preliminary reports, the crash involved two Ford SUVs. A male driver, who was the sole occupant of one vehicle, was traveling northbound on Spaulding Avenue. The other vehicle, driven by a male adult with a female passenger, was heading eastbound on Fountain Avenue. The vehicles collided as they entered the intersection.
The female passenger was transported to a nearby hospital, where she was later pronounced dead. According to the Los Angeles Fire Department, as reported in our previous article, one of the SUVs crashed into a building, and two people were trapped in the wreckage of their cars requiring the LAFD to extract them from the vehicles.
A 30-year-old male involved in the crash was reported to be in serious condition and a 70-year-old man was reported to have non-life-threatening injuries.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation. Authorities have not yet determined whether speed, alcohol, or drugs were factors in the collision.
