Join LA Pride on July 7 for a day of Celebration, Community, and Support the Documentary “Transcontinental Run”

Trans Pride 2024: 5K Run and Picnic in Griffith Park

LA Pride is excited to announce its partnership for Trans Pride 2024, featuring a 5K fun run, picnic, raffle, and resource exchange in Griffith Park’s Crystal Springs Picnic Area, Pettigrew Field. The event will run from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., with the picnic starting at 10 a.m.

The event aims to raise funds for the documentary “Transcontinental Run,” which follows trans athlete Cal Dobbs’ 2,800-mile run across America to advocate for transgender inclusion in sports and access to gender-affirming healthcare. Despite facing the most aggressively anti-trans year on record, Dobbs became the first trans person to run across the country, discovering joyful trans communities along the way. The documentary is produced by an all-trans team.

Proceeds from the 5K will support the film’s post-production. In-person participants will receive a commemorative Trans Pride 5K medal and a pair of Superfeet insoles.

Non-runners are encouraged to join in by walking, strutting, strolling, sashaying, or rolling. Trans Pride is inclusive and welcoming to all ages, abilities, and bodies, emphasizing community and joy.

Following the run, attendees can enjoy a picnic featuring trans-owned food vendors, a Trans Resource Exchange, and a raffle with thousands of dollars in prizes. Participation in the 5K is not required to join the picnic.

A virtual sign-up option is available for those not in the LA area. However, medals and insoles are only provided to in-person participants. Direct donations can also be made to the film.

This event is produced by Pink White & Blue Films LLC. For more information or inquiries, please contact them directly.
