Learn Basic Techniques and Fun Routines, No Experience Required
Dive into the basics of artistic swimming and master a fun routine in each class at the West Hollywood Aquatic Center. This program, suitable for anyone with basic swimming and treading water skills, requires no previous synchronized swimming experience. You can sign up at the Aqualillies website. The first class on July 20 is complimentary; all other classes are twenty dollars each.
Artistic swimming, formerly known as synchronized swimming, is an Olympic sport that combines elements of swimming, dance, and gymnastics. While the term “synchronized swimming” is still commonly used, the official name was changed in 2017. Water ballet, a more general term, describes artistic movements performed in the water.
Participants in these classes will learn artistic swimming techniques from trained professionals and incorporate these skills into an engaging water ballet routine.
