Pop Icon Cyndi Lauper Embarks on Her Final Tour, Tickets on Sale
Pop icon and LGBTQ Ally Cyndi Lauper is set to embark on her farewell tour, marking her first major run in a decade. Produced by Live Nation, the 23-city headlining tour kicks off on October 18th at the Bell Centre in Montreal, QC, and will traverse North America, including stops in her hometown of New York City at Madison Square Garden, Boston, Nashville, Los Angeles, and more, before concluding on December 5th at the United Center in Chicago, IL.
Throughout the tour, Lauper will be accompanied by special guests, with details to be announced later. The announcement of her farewell tour coincides with the release of “LET THE CANARY SING,” a feature-length documentary film delving into Lauper’s remarkable life and career. The documentary premiered exclusively on Paramount+ in the U.S. and Canada on Tuesday, June 4th.
In honor of the tour and the film, Lauper was celebrated with an imprint ceremony at the TCL Chinese Theatre Hollywood on June 4th in Los Angeles. Lauper also made an appearance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” to discuss her farewell tour and “LET THE CANARY SING.” Additionally, she was recently featured on CBS Sunday Morning.
Directed by Emmy® Award-winning documentarian Alison Ellwood, “LET THE CANARY SING” premiered at the 2023 Tribeca Festival. Produced by Fine Point Films and Sony Music Entertainment in association with Concord Originals, the documentary chronicles Lauper’s rise to stardom, highlighting her influence on generations through her music, punk style, feminism, and advocacy.
Legacy Recordings, Sony Music Entertainment’s catalog division, has released a companion album to the documentary titled “LET THE CANARY SING.” The album, available now on vinyl and as a digitally expanded edition, spans Lauper’s illustrious career.
