Hollywood Legends’ Haven Hits Market: Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward’s Iconic Beverly Hills Estate Listed

The Historic Residence Where Newman and Woodward Shared Movie-Star Moments

By Dolores Quintana

A historic 1.2-acre property, a gated retreat nestled in the heart of Beverly Hills, once touched by the legendary presence of Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward, has been listed for sale as reported by The Hollywood Reporter. The majestic private estate epitomizes the tranquility and elegance of classic Beverly Hills living.

The couple rented the estate after their marriage in 1958 after meeting during the Broadway production of “Picnic” in 1953. Even though they were both married at the time of the first meeting, they ended up together five years later and stayed married for 50 years until Newman’s death. Woodward is now 93 years old. The property is owned and sold by Taylor Anne Crichton, daughter of novelist and director Michael Crichton.

The residence boasts lush green landscapes, allowing abundant natural light to filter through its exquisite spaces. Upon entry, a seamless blend of history and modern luxury unfolds. The expansive kitchen, adorned with top-of-the-line finishes, effortlessly connects to a charming walk-in pantry and dedicated wine storage, showcasing a perfect blend of functionality and style. The living room, featuring a striking black marble fireplace, becomes the focal point for entertainment.

Outside, the loggia offers a stone fireplace opposite a custom swing sofa, creating an ideal setting for leisurely afternoons and evening reprieves. The property also features a bocce court, citrus trees, wooded paths, and a rooftop cabana overlooking the pool and hiking trails, providing a haven of serenity and privacy.

This timeless estate seamlessly combines classic charm with modern amenities, offering a true testament to luxury living in the heart of Beverly Hills. As it prepares to grace the market, this property stands as a living legacy of the storied past of Hollywood’s golden couple, inviting prospective buyers to experience the allure of its unique history and luxurious features.Carolwood Estates’ agents  Benjamin Ballarin, Kevin Dees, and Sebastian Spader hold the listing.
