West Hollywood’s WeHo Mobility Pop-up: Illuminate Your Ride, Engage in Mobility Dialogue

West Hollywood Bicycle Coalition to Distribute Free Bike Lights

By Dolores Quintana

The City of West Hollywood is set to host the WeHo Mobility Pop-up event, collaborating with the West Hollywood Bicycle Coalition to offer information and gather public input on ongoing mobility projects. The event aims to promote safe cycling, providing free bike lights to enhance visibility during nighttime rides. You can RSVP on Eventbrite

Scheduled for Monday, November 27, 2023, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., the WeHo Mobility Pop-up will distribute bike lights on a first-come, first-served basis to those with their bikes, along with complimentary giveaways for all attendees. Information will be available on various mobility initiatives, including the Dockless Mobility and Autonomous Delivery Programs, City-operated transit services like the West Hollywood Cityline and The PickUp, and new bikeways associated with planning initiatives.

California Vehicle Code mandates that bicycles used at night on highways, sidewalks, or bikeways be equipped with a visible white light. The City of West Hollywood underscores its commitment to car-free transportation alternatives, particularly cycling. Ongoing projects include the design of protected bike lanes on Fountain Avenue and neighborhood bicycle improvements along the Willoughby/Vista/Gardner corridors. The City is also developing the WeHo Target Vision Zero Action Plan and Metro K Line North First/Last Mile Plan to enhance pedestrian and bicyclist safety.

Residents, employees, visitors, and stakeholders are encouraged to attend the WeHo Mobility Pop-up to stay informed about these initiatives. For further details on mobility projects in the City of West Hollywood, visit www.weho.org/mobility.

For inquiries about the WeHo Mobility Pop-up, contact Bob Cheung, Senior Transportation Planner at the City of West Hollywood, at (323) 848-6346 or bcheung@weho.org. TTY service is available for individuals who are Deaf or hard of hearing at (323) 848-6496.
