LGBTQ+ Youth Conference Becomes an Interactive Festival

By Dolores Quintana

The Los Angeles LGBT Center is proud to present Models of Pride and the return of its 31st annual event, now transformed into a jubilant festival of love, acceptance, and joy. For over three decades, Models of Pride has been a cornerstone LGBTQ+ youth conference, and this year, it takes on a new and exciting format to celebrate its long-standing success. Special guests on the Models of Pride stage this year are amazing artists like LGBTQ+ activist and entertainer Dylan Mulvaney, who will be giving the keynote address. The headlining performance will be by singer-songwriter Hayley Kiyoko, with Emmy Award-winning creator Ruba Wilson as the host of the event.

  • Date: October 14
  • Location: California Science Center, Wallis Annenberg Building
  • Address: 3737 S. Figueroa St., Los Angeles, CA 90007

The Models of Pride Festival promises to be a day filled with entertainment and activities. Attendees can look forward to an all-new venue, exciting interactive events, dancing to the beats of renowned DJs, and captivating live performances. The festival will also feature Chill Lounges, a Resource Center, a College and Job Fair, carnival games, and a variety of delectable food truck options. The best part? Admission is entirely free.

This inclusive event welcomes youth aged 24 and under, as well as their friends and families, to come together in a spirit of celebration and togetherness.

As a vital component of the festival, the Parents and Professionals Institute will offer a unique opportunity for family members, educators, professionals, and all other adult supporters of LGBTQ+ youth to come together in a supportive environment. The day will feature tailored workshops, discussions, valuable resources, and exclusive programming designed to address the specific needs of this important group.
Models of Pride is thrilled to embark on this new chapter, evolving into a joyous festival that honors its rich history while embracing the future. The festival’s mission remains rooted in promoting love, acceptance, and understanding within the LGBTQ+ community.
