The City of West Hollywood is gearing up for its annual Historic Preservation Celebration, titled “Plummer Park Through the Years.” This event aims to honor the rich stories, significant events, and cherished memories that have unfolded within the historic buildings of Plummer Park.
Scheduled for Saturday, September 9, 2023, at 11 a.m., the celebration will be held at Plummer Park’s Fiesta Hall, situated at 7377 Santa Monica Boulevard. The event is free and open to the public, with complimentary refreshments provided.
In conjunction with the city’s annual historic preservation celebration, West Hollywood has joined forces with the California Preservation Foundation to present their second annual Doors Open event. From 12 p.m. to 3 p.m., attendees can explore Great Hall, Long Hall, and Fiesta Hall, gaining insights into the groups that have played pivotal roles in fostering community unity within Plummer Park’s historic structures.
The City of West Hollywood, established in 1984, places immense value on preserving its cultural heritage. The Current and Historic Preservation Planning Division collaborates with the Historic Preservation Commission to identify and safeguard historic resources in the city. West Hollywood adopted a Historic Preservation Ordinance in 1989, and to date, it has designated over 100 structures as cultural resources.
