Fran Drescher Presents Third Annual “Cancer Schmancer” Health Summit

Though Fran Drescher’s iconic performance as Fran Fine found her in a caretaking position (in practice, most of what she did to heal the Sheffield family pertained to style and over-the-top manner,) it is in her current stead as the spokeswoman for Cancer Schmancer that she has found herself truly stepping up to the role of au pair – of health and well-being.

Now in its third year, the Health Summit being hosted by Drescher for the Cancer Schmancer organization serves to educate and inform both patients and medical professionals about, among other preventive and healing measures, nutrition, bio-identical hormone replacement and dealing with trauma.

With a wealth of panels and Q&A sessions to choose from, the Health Summit is a great way for cancer survivors and their families to stay updated and informed about methods and technologies for treatment and post-treatment options. Tickets for the day-long event (which commences at 9 a.m. on October 24) start at $300, with VIP packages for $500 featuring a champagne reception with Fran herself, in addition to select speakers from the summit. Esteemed healthcare professionals who will be on hand at the event to discuss key issues and solutions will include Dr. Hyla Cass, Dr. Aly Cohen, Dr. Gail Jackson, Dr. Zuri Murrell, Dr. Mel Kurtulus, Cristina Ferrare, Samantha Harris, Leslie Michaelson, Dr. Zuri Murrell, Dr. Jim Olson, Dr. Dean Ornish and Dr. Pam Taub.

Funds raised from the gathering will also support Cancer Schmancer’s School Assembly Prevention Program and Early Detection Fran Vans, vans co-partnered with Inner Images Inc. to give marginalized women without insurance options free mammograms.

So get ready to take cancer by the cells with this highly enlightening and supportive occasion. Health Summit will take place at Dorothy Chandler Pavilion on 135 N. Grand Avenue. Entrance to the venue can be purchased at www.cancerschmancer.org/whs. Tickets also include breakfast, lunch, and beverages.
