Therefore, says out CHIRLA spokesperson Jorge-Mario Cabrera, “We are always in need of monetary donations because every dollar extends far and wide as we hire more staff, including attorneys, opening more legal clinic hours, process more citizenship and DACA applications for free, print educational materials, and organize workshops in schools throughout the state to educate the community.”

Additionally, “the legal department welcomes volunteers, especially immigration attorneys or paralegal volunteers to help expand our services to immigrants seeking our help,” says Cabrera. “We do need volunteers to help us educate the community through social media, video experts, photographers, webmasters expert on Drupal to help us enhance our website.”

CHIRLA also holds monthly LGBT immigrant gatherings where issues regarding to LGBT immigrants are discussed. Contact Tony Bernabe at (213) 353-1784 or tbernabe@chirla.org for that information, as well.
